SHELTER KEYCHAIN

In my designs I like to capture a moment. If possible, tell a story.

Shelter is a short animated film by Proter Robinson, Madeon, A-1 Pictures and Crunchyroll based around the song Shelter. The song had come out earlier this year and was a hit. Little did we know the story and themes behind the song that were told through the animated film. Its a story of a girl (Rin) who is living alone in a virtual world in which she can create and explore. She has been placed in this world by her father in the time tragic events are occurring on earth. The animation tells a beautiful story of her memories and reason for being.

For this keychain design I wanted to showcase the VR version of Rin riding along on her Father's spaceship that she was placed in. The idea is that Rin is protecting herself now. Her physical body is inside the spaceship keeping her safe while her mind is in a VR body keeping her sane and mentally safe. I also really like the idea of the "Bomber Pin Up" girls so that was a large inspiration in the layout of the design.
